Peak Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

This policy explains what information Peak ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and how it's stored. Peak is a personal self-improvement app that turns your real-life habits and activities into character progression.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (handled securely via our authentication provider, Supabase Auth — we never see or store your raw password).

Profile and character data. Your display name, username, character stats, level, XP, streak, avatar/cosmetic selections, and any weekly XP goals you set.

Activity data. Every activity you log — including the activity name, category, XP earned, stat gains, and timestamp. This includes both positive activities and any penalties you choose to log.

Routines and goals. Any custom routines (bundles of activities) and personal goals you create, including target dates and progress.

Social features. If you add friends or set a rival, we store that connection so leaderboard and comparison features can work. We do not share your activity data with friends beyond what's shown in shared features like leaderboards. You can block or report other users; reports (the reporter, the reported user, the reason, and optional details) are stored so we can review them.

AI-assisted features. If you use the "My Plan" chat assistant, your message, recent chat history, and some character context (your name, level, stats, current weekly plan, and available activity presets) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API so it can give a relevant response. If you use AI-graded activity logging, the text you submit (a free-text activity description or a new preset name) is sent to Claude to determine its XP/stat value. We don't send your full activity history to Anthropic — only what's needed for that specific request.

Notifications. In-app notifications (like friend requests or level-up events) are generated from your own activity and stored so you can view them later.

What We Don't Collect

We do not collect payment or billing information. If you subscribe to Peak Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through your Apple ID — Peak never sees your card details. We only receive a subscription status (active or expired) from our purchase provider, RevenueCat, to enable Pro features.

We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

We do not collect push notification tokens or device identifiers. Notifications are in-app only.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to operate the app: calculating your level and stats, displaying your history and streaks, powering routines and goals, enabling social features you opt into, and improving the app's functionality.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Supabase acts as our infrastructure provider and does not use your data for its own purposes. Backend logic runs on Vercel, which may log request metadata (like IP address and timestamps) for standard operational purposes (debugging, abuse prevention) — these logs are not used to build a profile of you.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Delete account, inside the Peak app. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your account, character, activity history, routines, goals, friendships, and uploaded avatar images, and signs you out. This cannot be undone.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Peak Pro subscription. To cancel, open your iPhone's Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Purchase records are held by Apple and by our purchase provider, RevenueCat, as needed to process subscriptions.

You can also reset your character's stats and history from Profile > Danger Zone without deleting your account.

Children's Privacy

Peak is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the 'last updated' date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
